Step 1: Book Your Slot (Pre-book before the wedding).
Step 2: Dry Your Flowers
Guide: How to Prepare & Ship Your Varmala for Preservation
A Step-by-Step Guide by Peacy Art and Craft
Congratulations on your wedding! To ensure your Varmala (garland) looks stunning in resin, the flowers must be handled with care from the moment the ceremony ends. Follow these steps to prepare them for their journey to us.
Step 1: Immediate Care (Day of the Wedding)
-
Do Not Refrigerate: Contrary to popular belief, putting flowers in a regular home fridge can cause moisture buildup and rot.
-
Keep them Dry: Ensure no water is sprayed on the garland after the ceremony.
-
Handle with Grace: Avoid crushing the petals. If possible, hang the garland in a cool, dry room away from direct sunlight.
-
Step 2: How to Air-Dry at Home (If not shipping fresh)
If you cannot ship the flowers within 24 hours, you must start the air-drying process:
-
Hang Upside Down: Use a string to hang the entire garland (or individual heavy flowers like Roses) upside down. This keeps the stems straight and the flower heads from drooping.
-
Air Circulation: Choose a room with a fan or good ventilation. Humidity is the enemy of resin art!
-
Darkness is Key: Keep them in a dark or shaded area. Direct sunlight will bleach the colors out of your flowers.
-
Step 3: Packing for Shipment
Whether the flowers are fresh or semi-dry, follow these packing rules to prevent mold:
-
NO Plastic Bags: Never wrap flowers in plastic or Ziploc bags. This traps moisture and turns flowers brown/black in 24 hours.
-
Use Paper: Wrap the garland loosely in Tissue Paper or Newspaper. This allows the flowers to "breathe" during transit.
-
The Box: Use a sturdy cardboard box. Fill empty spaces with crumpled paper or bubble wrap so the flowers don't "bounce" around during shipping.
-
Step 4: Shipping Details
-
Courier Choice: Use a fast courier service (BlueDart, Delhivery, or DTDC).
-
Labeling: Mark the box as "FRAGILE" and "HANDLE WITH CARE."
-
Notify Us: Once you ship, share the tracking number with us on WhatsApp (+91 96626 50825) so we can prepare for their arrival.
-
Important Notes:
-
Color Change: Please note that some flowers change shade slightly during the drying and resin process (e.g., Red roses may turn a deep maroon/burgundy).
-
Timeframe: Once we receive your flowers, the preservation process takes 15–25 days to ensure the highest quality finish.
